7 Ways to usE AI in Influencer Marketing

As a marketer, when major advances in marketing technology become readily available, my initial response is mainly excitement (even with AI!) Influencer marketing is so relationship-driven that it never seemed a concern that AI would replace some of the most important of my daily tasks like delicately providing brand-specific feedback, negotiating partnership terms based on numerous KPIs, and a great deal more.

So it comes as no surprise that I have been playing around with the ways AI can best benefit my daily workflows. Here are the top ways I am currently leveraging AI in influencer marketing.

Analyzing Campaign Reporting Metrics

I love Perplexity as it cites its sources for every response (something ChatGPT is not always super reliable at) which is vitally important when it comes to leveraging industry benchmarks to analyze campaign metrics and performance.

AI can help connect important real-time metrics like brand mentions, traffic, and conversions directly to a marketer's specific initiatives. This provides an up-to-date monitor without the typically pricey monthly cost as long as the data is public.

Sourcing New Tools

When I asked Perplexity to tell me the number of likes and comments on a creator post, it responded "It is not possible to determine how many people liked the post [redacted link] without access to the account that posted it. Instagram has made like counts private to reduce the pressure of posting to your feed, and the total like count is only available to the individual who posted it (source: 1 & 2). However, there are third-party tools like NapoleonCat that can be used to check the total number of likes on Instagram."

This was a new-to-me tool and I signed up for the free trial to explore how it may support my work with creators. Since then, I have sourced countless tools that provide efficiencies in my daily tasks to allow me to focus on one of my most important tasks, growing and deepening our relationships with creators.

Monitoring Competitors

I love looking at what my competitors are doing in the influencer space; who are they working with, how frequently they're activating, which channels they're targeting, and more.

I can easily keep a pulse on the comment sentiment of competitor creator posts, receive a summary of overlapping keywords, and so on.

Refining My Writing

I got my start in the influencer marketing industry as a creator myself in 2009 because I loved to write but my prose still leaves something to be desired! Using AI as my handy thesaurus is another (albeit small) convenience at my fingertips.

Creating New Social Content

I used AI to generate topic samples for the examples below that outline the ways I am looking forward to utilizing AI within influencer marketing!

Predictive Analytics

AI can also use predictive analytics to analyze past influencer marketing campaigns and identify patterns that can be used to predict future results.

For example, AI can analyze tons of influencers' historical data and compare their content and performance with each other. Then the AI algorithm can decide on the most effective influencer for the campaign. (source)

Weeding Out Bots & Highlighting Influencer Fraud

In addition, AI can help detect fake accounts and combat influencer fraud. This can help ensure that marketers are working with authentic influencers and getting the most out of their influencer campaigns.

As more creators begin to use AI to streamline their own content creation workflows, I look forward to seeing more ways people leverage AI to work more efficiently in creator marketing.
